November is TOTALLY crazy around here. We have birthdays on the 11th, 13th and 15th, I’m in the middle of Christmas Card Mayhem and then there is Thanksgiving and getting ready for Christmas and on and on and ON!! So this year..mostly because the boys are young enough and I can….I decided to have a combo Dr. Seuss Birthday Party! Thing One and Thing Two to be exact. Sometimes I feel like these two “THINGS” do as much damage in 5 min as they real Thing one and Thing two do in Cat in the Hat! I saved a lot of my graphics and templates I designed if anyone wants me to email them for your own ParTay!
I bought iron stuff and designed the Thing 1 and Thing 2 graphics in photoshop, printed them off on Iron on transfers purchased at Joann’s Fabric ($4) Then I snagged these red t-shirts at Walmart ($3 ea) The boys and I had a fun little photo shoot in my kitchen with tons of fabulous window light! I wrote the little birthday poem, put it together in photoshop with the pix and for the first time ever did an EMAIL invite. I was a little mortified but like I said November is crazy and Jack always reminds me….. “You get what you get and you don’t throw a FIT!”

Of course we had Green Eggs (deviled eggs with some blue dye to turn them green) and HAM! I actually did rolls and we made mini sandwiches. Super easy, super cheap and the kids loved it.
- I made a little Candy table for the kids to fill up their bags with some whimsical treats before leaving.
- I found these pink drinks at the dollar store ($1 for a pack of 6) and the kids had a Pink Yink Drink.
- For Max’s gift I bought him a BLUE beta FISH which the kids named Frank the II (Frank the First died a few years ago)
- I got some super fun balloons at Pioneer Party
- I found info on the Thing 1 and Thing 2 cupcakes HERE
- I made the giant cupcake Cake with this mold seen HERE
- I actually did a tester a few days prior to see how it would all turn out…ummm not so good…. With some helpful tips from my friend Ashley I learned that Cake Release is AWESOME! So the first try became Charlie’s 1 year cake that he could thrash into.
- Oh and I also made Charlie’s One year old birthday hat with a cheap one I got at the dollar store, covered it in ribbon, added a red boa and then cut out some sticky red glitter foam stuff you can get at the craft store for the #1

Oh yes!! I also got this cute Cat in the Hat game at Target. We played it while we waited for all the little friends to arrive. The kids loved it!
